The Foundation’s recent work has included:

∞  A National Benchmark for all GP Out of Hours Providers

∞ Researching and developing General Practice response to patient’ Urgent Care Needs

∞ Development of detailed models of care for same day presentation in general practice

∞    Practical support to Practice Based Commissioning organisations, particularly working with them to identify the real priorities that can drive cost down whilst improving care and service for patients

∞    Developing professionally led provider organisations

∞    Reviewing emergency care systems to improve care for patients and reduce admissions to hospital. This includes exploring variation in referral patterns in general practice, integrating care across OOH and ambulance services and improvement programmes in A&E, MAUs and SAUs.

∞    Defining new corporate models of In Hours Primary Care provision

∞    Supporting the development of new, local mutual - healthcare organisations with a particular interest in the development of membership organisations.

∞    Developing clear strategies with leadership teams.

∞    Supporting the development of practice based commissioning

∞    Whole system diagnostic of urgent care including primary care, community services and the acute trust
